First and foremost, thank you for such a glorious response to the July 2018 Revue e-zine. We so appreciate all of the interaction and comments on the Revue Facebook and Revue website.
This month’s articles include an ARTIST PROFILE featuring the work of Mendel Samayoa; Chef Amalia Moreno-Damgaard takes to Africa explaining that it is the other side of Latin cuisine; Hadazul Cruz presents Sculpting a Religious Image Colonial-style; and Karen Gonzales brings good news about education with Strengthening Environments in Pre-Schools Across Guatemala (English/Spanish).
The INTERACTIVE presentation video double feature is Drones Over Antigua by Antigua Cultural. For the love of reading the August BOOK ALERT spotlights “Traditional Weavers of Guatemala” by Deborah Chandler and Teresa Cordon; “Telenovelas in Pan-Latino Context” by June Carolyn Erlick; “Maguey Journey” by Katheryn Rousso: and “Maya Studies with the Maya” by Ruud van Akkeren. Thank you to all the writers who provided back stories on these books.
The Cultural Events Calendar Datebook links to The Antigua Guide to provide you with all the information you need to stay entertained all month long.
Businesses who choose the Revue (thank you) to get the word out about what they offer are located via the ADVERTISER INDEX where you can find places to go, things to do and fun to be had under headings in Restaurants, Hotels, Shopping, Services, Real Estate and Travel.
This edition is lovingly dedicated to all the Revue readers who for the past 26+ years made it a monthly read. And now in 2018 for taking the plunge to appreciate what we think is a wonderful transition, the Revue E-Zine.
If you’re already in Guatemala we don’t need to tell you what a beautiful country this is, and if you’re reading from a far we hope when you read this magazine you’ll want to come for a visit.
Gorgeous, Terry and John. I especially like the picture of the kite festival on page 11 — and lots of other things. Thanks for reminding the world about our book Traditional Weavers of Guatemala – Their Stories Their Lives. People in both the US and Guatemala are reading it a lot, and the artisans themselves are happy with the attention is has brought to them and their art. Hurray for REVUE and more positive news of Guatemala.
Terry and John, thank you for another amazing edition of Revue – Amazing job!! your contribution to the Antigua community is priceless.
Peace and love to you both.
Thank you so much Karen. That means a lot.
Thank you Deborah, much appreciated — it is truly our pleasure —
